PLAYER OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 6

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Lebron James

PER 40.79

Eastern
1-3
For a couple of years King James' mantle has been left as a bit of an afterthought despite simply being elite at everything in the game. People kind of took it for granted and jumped on the hype train of the next engine guy and the growth of others. But, he's well and truly in the conversation again this year for that MVP award as he leads the league leading Wizards. This week he was slightly down on the season numbers at 39 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, but he was also down 6 minutes! GOAT?

Jalen Brunson

PER 36.87

The Pistons are rising, and it's due to one man. Brunson has arrived this year now folks as Sheed took a little to get him to perform the way he wanted and needed. 39 points last week, up an astounding 10ppg on his season averages, with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. 56/48/76 splits too and the little guy is carrying this Pistons squad back up the standings!

Victor Wembanyama

Wemby got off to a slow start this year as Yeet had to find a way to keep his best player as involved as he could despite the ball hungry guys around him, and he's done it well. Wemby poured in 29 points, 16.5 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 3.3 blocks last week and did it on 54/40/96 splits. The man is a video game nightmare.

Jayson Tatum

PER 35.25

Tatum is a GMs dream player to own as he loves playing both sides of the ball. This week highlighted that with 34 points a game, but 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks, from the SF spot. His 3pt shooting let him down at 24%, but he was up across the board on numbers otherwise this week.

Lats years MVP, he's been just a little "less" this year for Milwaukee which was probably always going to happen between engines. Not because he's worse or not a superstar, but because he was almost built for the last engine and naturally you'll come slightly back off that when it's not quite the same. Last week 36 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals and the Bucks are back humming!

Nikola Jokic

PER 26.75

The Joker has been a rock for the Rockets this year, as you can imagine, and we're about to see how they can fair without him this current week. That said, last week he was again dominant averaging 19 points, 13 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.3 steals and a block on 53/40/76 splits and pushing them right up the pointy end of the West!

Anthony Davis

PER 32.91

Western

The Wolves have been a good team this year and it's been because the new GM has been strong enough to hold on and coach for the ride. Davis is one of those guys that would have been coveted by alot of teams and he's been an anchor for them, not missing a single game. 27 points, 12 rebounds and 2.5 blocks last week leading the team and the Wolves are rolling.

Joel Embiid

PER 31.21

Embiid is finally healthy enough to hit the court again this past week and like he always does, he shows his worth to the Jazz right away. 26 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.8 steals and 3.3 blocks from the big man is in elite territory and he did it on 58/38/100 splits too. The Jazz need him active as many games as possible to anchor that middle and make it all work down the stretch.

Mark Williams

PER 32.53

Well hello Mark Williams! Welcome to the season! Williams debuted for the year for the Mavs last week and was a complete monster. The team then turned from a 1 win team to a 5 win team as they went perfect on the week on Williams' back! 16 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 2.3 steals and 3.8 blocks was huge! And, he didn't turn the ball over once. Get this man all the minutes!

Dejounte Murray

PER 30.30

Western
4-0
This week the Jazz have 2 guys nominated and why not, they're an elite team! Dejounte was down a little on his season scoring numbers, but that's also cause his numbers are "Embiid out" inflated, so 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2.3 steals is a fantastic return. He's doing it all on both ends of the court and the Jazz have to be happy they kept their guy.
