Street games - I would imagine this has always occurred, but a fond memory is rounding up the other local kids in the street and playing whatever sport or game, being kick to kick, cricket, 40/40/hide and seek or whatever weird game we came up with.
Indiana Pacers - Power Ranking
All RankingsThe Pacers have been another success story this year, which is an interesting take IMO (of my own opinion) after being the team that had Wemby and traded him, which I will always vehemently chastise as a wrong step. That said, they were a struggling low seed playoff team the last couple of years and never really settled enough to give any line up a real shot with Wemby at the helm to know if they were actually able to come good or not, so they moved him out too. They didn't stop there, and have had some other key strong moves of bringing in garland, then sending out Garland, and the identity of the team formed nicely around the Cade/Chet/Bridges core which has flourished in this engine. 50 wins and counting, 9-3 over the last few weeks while sporting injuries, and they're going to come all back together for what could be a nice playoff run if Yeet can get the line ups and match ups right.
Hello. I am very new to this and have little experience with serious relationships. However, this year I have matured a lot and taken up routines and actions in my life that have pushed me into adulthood. I can be emotionally reactive and can say and do things I will regret, but at my core I am all heart and compassion and I want the best for people. Just don't p*** me off, m***********. He he.
A Force of One - Solid identity, but still feels like they’re relying heavily on one consistent strength.
Jurassic Park - "Life, uh... finds a way." Against all odds, against all logic, against every injury report and early GG, this team finds a way to score. Like dinosaurs resurrected from amber, they should not exist at this level of competitiveness and yet. Dr. Malcolm was right: you can't contain them with a matchup disadvantage or a soft schedule. Every week you think you've figured out their perimeter defence and then Velociraptor opens the door. Full of big plays, unexpected moments and at least one surprise every week that makes you say 'how did that happen?'
The Distracted Teacher: So much talent - OG Anunoby, Cade Cunningham, Chet Holmgren, Mikal Bridges, yet struggling to get going after being near the top. Feels like a group project where no one’s quite clicking yet. He was the leader of most projects, but something changed mid-term. "I miss our old teacher,"
Rui/Risacher/2nd FOR Brooks/K.Williams/2nd. Look the jury is still out on what exactly Risacher will pan out to be, time SEEMS to be against him on that front when it comes to living up to the hype. Rui is what he is and at least IN GAME doesn't exactly translate to what he is in the NBA. So to pair them two in a deal, at a position they were already stacked in, for a guy like Brooks who is thriving atm... It's some pretty nifty dealing if im being honest. Brooks will never have come into this Pacers situation lighting the world on fire... But his skillset and impact on both ends just adds ANOTHER position for them that is elite in that regard.
On special - It is always a well received surprise when you are shopping and something that you but very regularly is on special. You were going to get it anyway so always nice to save a little on it or possibly a lot. Indiana so far have had a little special but I am sure they are hoping to only increase it as the season goes on.
I really hope Yeet doesn't read this weeks power rankings because surely the rest of us aren't ready to hear him rant and rave about how great Chet and Cade are (it is true, they are great)
The Departed (2006) – gritty, ruthless, and always feels like they’ve got something cooking behind the scenes. Willing to cut ties with whomever they wish, the Pacers have reidentified themselves again and again. Now with a new-look defensive structure that has already driven results. But who is the rat in the cracks!? How is the snitch? And is the Departed as good as Infernal Affairs!?
If this was up to me, Indiana would be up much higher on this list. A pretty average last 11 games of 5-6 but the roster is loaded with young talent and Cade Cunningham is a superstar.
The Class Clown with a Big Heart- Hides his insecurities behind his obnoxious antics, often derailing lessons with outlandish calling out and silly behaviour. He has a heart of gold and is genuinely liked by his peers and teachers alike, but he probably needs to take it down a notch if he wants to get the most out of his time at school. He has a great deal of potential if he can get out of his own way.
Dash (The Incredibles) - Quick, exciting, still learning control. Fast pace and scoring bursts—defense hasn’t fully caught up. Quick in mindset and game-style, the Pacers are a healthy run and rotation from being a top 10 talent. A Week 9 retool, and upgrade to the defensive end, could be the fix.
Yeah†– Usher featuring Lil Jon & Ludacris Bold, infectious, and unstoppable, it celebrates dominance and high energy. The theme mirrors a confident, in-control team performing at the top of their game. Following the much maligned Wemby trade, Yeet been screaming from the rooftops following every win. Let the good times continue to roll
Dance Gavin Dance: The Pacers are a high-energy, unpredictable team that mirrors the chaotic brilliance of Dance Gavin Dance. With GM Yeet making bold, loud statements daily and stars Cade Cunningham, Chet Holmgren, and Darius Garland providing both flair and skill, the Pacers can overwhelm opponents with speed, creativity, and sheer audacity. Much like the band’s genre-bending, off-kilter post-hardcore, this roster thrives on improvisation, fast transitions, and moments of jaw dropping brilliance, but consistency and stability is still a work in progress.
The Fool: Represents new beginnings, innocence, and taking a leap of faith. Encourages trusting the journey even without knowing the outcome. Yeet's leap of faith in trading Wemby has been readily documented and ridiculed. But... could Yeet laugh last and loudest? His Pacers look good.
The new-look Pacers at #8 feel like a team built in MyCareer when you stop caring about realism. Cade Cunningham is finally playing like Lakers always hoped he would, Chet Holmgren looks like he spawned in on rookie difficulty, and Garland is doing his best impression of a high-level support character in trade block ready to leave.
Childhood Reference: Choose Your Own Adventure Book. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fall into a pit. Cade Cunningham is the brave hero making the choices for everyone else. Indiana started the journey like a knight with all the specs levelled up for the season, and Week 1 dented that armour as quickly as it was equipped. Will Indiana choose the right path?
