Boston Draft Recap
A little late, but we thought we would recap Boston’s draft.
The Celtics made a late season trade to which got them into
the lottery, although there may be some regret with how RJ Barrett has looked
to start the NBA season. None the less, the Celtics do love draft day.
The Celtics went into the draft with Pics 14 and 19.
We were quite happy that Devin Carter was there, as he was
our main target at that spot. The Celtics were in need of some young guards to
beef out the roster.
Carter had a great college season and really took a leap
offensively and carried his team at providence college. The offensive leap was obviously
nice, but it was his defensive prowess that kept him in the lottery. He is a
very strong point of attack defender and tested extremely well physically,
perhaps setting a record with the sprint.
Unfortunately Carter suffered a shoulder injury prior to
summer league which brought tears to the GMs eyes. Reports are that Carter will
be back in the new year, but all reports at this stage are positive and he has
already been seen putting up shots in the gym.
With the 19th pick pick the Celtics selected Jared
McCain. A polarising prospect, not cause of his play on the court, but because
of his social media person on Tik Tok. 
He had a great season at Duke, with his long distance shooting
being his most translated skill to the NBA.
McCain has shown some promise in the small sample size and
even had some nice games on the NBA level. He looks to have shown more IQ,
defensive toughness and creativity than expected, well at least this early on. 
The Celtics GM obviously loves his young guys and these two
are no different. He currently doesn’t have any first round picks in the next draft
which seems strange to say. We’ll see if he will creep his was back in.
