PLAYER OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 14

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Zach LaVine

PER 36.46

Eastern
0-4
LaVine is in Brooklyn now and out of the shadow of Giannis, but even this week was big for Brooklyn days. 35 a game and he's back to his NSL HOF status here. He's one of the NSLs leading scorers, ever, and this is why, he can pour it in with the best of them. In Brooklyn, he's going to get all the opportunity he needs to hit as high water mark as possible for the year and it's going to be a fun ride down the stretch.

Ja Morant

PER 36.75

Eastern
1-3
Ja has finally been playing regularly and it's why the Hornets are right up there this season. 40 points a game this week and 5 rebounds and assists, with 1.3 steals to boot. He's the leader and the true difference maker in Charlotte, and that's saying something with DeMar DeRozan on the team. They'll go as far as Ja carries them, though, and that could be a long long way!

Lebron James

PER 37.66

Eastern
2-1
When will The King's reign of terror end? In case averaging 40 a night on the season wasn't enough, he dropped 44 a night with 7 rebounds and 7 assists this past week as he smashed out 42 minutes per game. he handed 2 steals and 1.3 blocks, too, and only 2 turnovers. The Wizards are going all in for this title this year before Lebron does walk off into the sunset, so look for them to ride their King all the way.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

PER 41.95

Eastern
3-1
Shai continues to be elite and last week while the Bucks ran rampant he scored 38 a night, above his season average, but also added an astounding 3.5 steals and 1.8 blocks per game...from a PG in only 32 minutes per game. He shot 58/42/92 and added 3 rebounds and assists, but this unique line is ELITE!

Kevin Durant

PER 40.51

Eastern

KD is now the main man in Toronto after the "I'm riding KD and Curry to retirement" party came to an end only 10 weeks later. He poured in 40 a night last week and that's well above his season average, which will rise as the season winds down and he continues to pour these games in. He did it with 8 rebounds and 4 assists, with 1.5 blocks, and only in 36 minutes.

Jimmy Butler

PER 33.66

Western
2-2
After missing so much of the year, Jimmy is now the man standing as AD watches from the sidelines. He has been a little down recently on his season totals but this past week was buoyed by 52/53/74 splits leading to 28 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists per game in only 29 minutes a game. If he can do that in 29 minutes, what's he doing in the 42 Lebron played?

Jordan Poole

PER 37.76

Western
3-1
Don't look now, but there's a pool party in the Bay Arena. Poole has exploded since being unleashed in Golden State and this week was his biggest, maybe ever! 39 points a game with 3 rebounds and 4 assists as the Warriors continue to surprise opponents as they look to win every single game they can. Poole jacked 15 triples a game last week and that isn't going to stop anytime soon!

Damian Lillard

PER 33.19

Western
3-1
Dame is still trucking along in Phoenix and the team has endured so much shuffle around him that you wonder where the best make up of the team actually did lay? 37 points last week with 5 rebounds and 4 assists and he's back to his "carrying the team" days this year, but just not seeing the crew around him quite aid as much as he needs. The Suns may have packed it in again this year now? Not sure. They were headed somewhere, but that was maybe 8 trades ago.

Amen Thompson

PER 27.77

Western
3-1
Amen has been threatening to have big weeks all the way through the year and this week he ate big time. 28 points a game this week which is 10 points higher than his season totals. He also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists with 1.3 steals and this line is bordering on the elite that you see from players, even on his own team. He's going to surpass some of them, very soon.

27.8 PTS

Nikola Jokic

PER 41.50

Western
4-0
The Joker has been up here all year, but even with some down weeks. This week is not one of those! 27 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.8 steals per game on 65/50/94 shooting splits with only 1.3 turnovers and in only 30 minutes on the court. The Rockets are trying to piece it all together and Joker is going to be the main man down that stretch for it to happen.
