PLAYER OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 12

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Kyrie Irving

PER 36.22

Eastern
1-3
Kyrie has been doing everything he possibly can to try and get this magic team up and firing and last week was even better. 43 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists are all up on his season numbers and he went for 47/45/81 splits too which were much more efficient. The little man is carrying this team and they need to ride that wave.

Lebron James

PER 33.26

Eastern
2-2
Just in case you thought Lebron was running at peak, he played a couple extra minutes this week and lifted all his averages in doing so. 41 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.8 blocks and the old man who is clearly working for the Time Variance Authority.

LaMelo Ball

PER 35.49

Eastern
3-1
LaMelo returned last week and he did so with a vengeance. I don't think we're going to see posts about Ball ebing available much after what we saw from Sexton coming back to earth as a starter, and now Ball splashing down 45 points a game with 4 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal and block. This is where the Bulls future is truly at.

Paul George

PER 37.94

Eastern
3-1
Don't look now, but the 76ers have found life since their trades and more health and PG is now 7-1 when playing in a 76er jersey. Last week he averaged 43 points with 4 rebounds and 2 assists while also guarding the oppositions best player and shooting 50/42/88 splits. He even dropped 58 in one of the games!

Victor Wembanyama

PER 32.37

Eastern
4-1
Wemby is as Wemby does and what Wemby does last week was 33 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 2.2 steals and 3.6 blocks per game...a line that you just about won't see from anyone else not named Giannis. That's the rare air the 2nd year phenom is already in, but we won't be seeing much more of it this year unfortunately.

Jamal Murray

PER 36.10

Western
0-4
Murray is the man in SA at the moment with Giannis out and 33 points and 6 assists are far and away better numbers than what he was doing in Brooklyn. We'll see if that holds once Giannis and his ball gravity is back, but for now he's busting out, even if it's not getting wins. He needs another week like this with the minimal turnovers and decent shooting to help get the Spurs back on track.

James Harden

PER 36.47

Western
1-3
Harden is the man in Utah with Murray gone and Embiid almost always out, and he poured in 32 points a game last week again with 6 assists. He only played 31 minutes, too, which might need to rise if they want to get more wins on the board down the stretch. Give him a healthy running mate in Joel please!

31.8 PTS

Jimmy Butler

PER 35.32

Western
1-3
Butler is back on the court and now it's all his show with Davis having gone down. 31 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists last week with minimal defensive numbers, which is surprising for Jimmy. He's going to ramp up in the coming wees and if he doesn't win this week, he's going to make that push for at least one win soon.

30.8 PTS

Luka Doncic

PER 37.62

Western
4-0
Luka is back baby and straight away nominated for player of the week. 37.5 points last week with 6 rebounds and 6 assists lading the Pels over some tough opponents and Leeroy is so very glad his boy came back. As long as Luka plays, the Pels have a nice well rounded squad to work with him, and will push any opponentt.

37.5 PTS

Cade Cunningham

PER 28.34

Western
4-0
Cade is blowing up right now everywhere, finally, and this past week he averaged 10 points a game more than his season numbers, splashing 36 a game with 5 rebounds and 6 assists as the Lakers get back to full strength and now look like they could threaten for another Finals berth! Imagine that, after blowing it up! Cade is a main piece of that and look for them to ride the hot hand each week, with so many options at their disposal.
