ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 12

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Pelle Larsson

PER 19.41

Eastern
1-3
Larsson was getting some good rotation time in Charlotte, but was sent to New York as part of bigger things and last week played 14 minutes off the bench. He put up a strong 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists a game with 1.3 steals on amazing 80/60/0 splits! he won't win the award but he showed something for the future.

Jamal Shead

PER 30.35

Eastern
2-2
Reggie Jackson and now Jevon Carter have exited the Brooklyn building and thus enters the rookie Jamal Shead to the rotation, and did he make a splash! 21 minutes a game for 17 points, 4 assists and a steal and he wasn't horrible from the field either. Stepped straight into that role that Carter had been playing for weeks. The Nets might have a gem here.

Kel el Ware

PER 12.51

Eastern
2-2
Ware was a starter again this past week but despite the ratings boosts, they clearly aren't landing all that much in the court action in the NSL. 32 minutes last week but still was sub 10 points per game and 6 rebounds from a big man is lacking. 1.8 blocks per game was nice and he spaced the floor, too, but he has work to do yet to be the man Pete believes he is.

Yves Missi

PER 19.62

Eastern
3-1
Missi was sent back to the bench last week, but still got a nomination here. After averaging a double double as a starter, he went back to 18 minutes and game and only managed 5.5 points, however he still hauled in 10 rebounds per game and a block a game too. He's looking every bit the part of a 2k C for the long term.

Donovan Clingan

PER 18.22

Eastern
3-1
Clingan gets a nod here every week due to the rookie pool being not all that deep, but that said he really smashed it this week. 7 points is a little down, but he had 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1.5 blocks a game as a rookie starting C and the Hawks have got to be happy about the future with this defensive anchor down low.

Isaiah Collier

PER 17.16

Western
1-3
Collier has finally found the rotation in Denver with the news that Bones is gone and other PG options are now also getting injuries. He played his first full week this past week and went for 6 points, 4 assists a game on a putrid 35/9/73 split. He's not there yet and this is why he was left off the rotation so long, but he's got a nice looking future.

Ulrich Chomche

PER 10.82

Western
1-3
Chomche is nominated again and started again, but it might be one of his last hurrahs as he's been diagnosed with injury. Last week he showed he's still raw, again, with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks from the starting minutes he got and even for a 2k athletic big these are semi pedestrian. Though, he wasn't expected to even play much this year, save for the Portland tank job.

Liam Robbins

PER 12.95

Western
1-3
With Wagner shelved, Robbins continues to see time, but how long does he have left in games? Plenty! 4 points, 4 rebounds and an assist as a reserve big man in 15 minutes last week and he's not really a name to watch for the future.

Bub Carrington

PER 22.67

Western
1-3
Bub continues to grow for the Suns in his reserve PG role, that Laddas has been so keen to "fix"! This week he poured in 16 points, 3 rebounds and an assist in 21 minutes and he was so impressive that Laddas even decided to now shop the vet PGs he was bringing in to replace Bub with! Look out 6th man role in Phoenix.

16.3 PTS

1.3 AST

Zach Edey

PER 20.18

Western
4-0
Edey continues to rack up starts in Memphis and last week he averaged a really strong double double with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 assists, a steal and 2 blocks per game. He's the man mountain everyone wanted when Boban was running around.
