PLAYER OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 18

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Kevin Durant

PER 33.38

Eastern
2-3
Kevin Durant has been having a big year for the oft injured Raptors squad. After his running mate was shipped off he has become the main focal point of their offense and the results have been mixed. A down week for KD but still shot 50% from the field and running up the blocks as always.

Jayson Tatum

PER 36.23

Eastern
2-2
Tatum has really become an MVP candidate this season for Boston, despite the slide in the standings compared to last year they're still a threat every night and a team and player you wouldn't want to see in a playoff series. 44 points on 52/40 splits he was an unstoppable force all week.

Karl-Anthony Towns

PER 25.96

KAT has to be one of the most underappreciated 2k stars of our league. He's finally putting up realistic numbers (outside of defense) and the Hornets have thrived with this star level of play. 21ppg doesn't jump off the page at you but the splits of 67/53/71 certainly do.

Lebron James

PER 35.97

Eastern
4-1
Also a mainstay in these awards LeBron had another big week for Washington going 3-1 surprisingly as missing your big men is usually a death sentence in 2k. But as we know if you have LeBron you have a chance. LeBron stepped up in the absence of size and pulled down a season high 11 boards a game to go along with 42 points and 5 assists and nearly 2 blocks. The King is ramping up ahead of the post season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

PER 41.56

Eastern

He's back again! for the 19th time this season and we should expect it with how dominant SGA is in game. I've often likened him to this generations Michael Jordan (in 2k) Put up a ridiculous week playing nearly 44 minutes a game he's cracked 50ppg for the week.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

PER 38.11

Western
1-3
The most complete 2 way player in 2k, definition of a demi-god. Despite the Spurs being without key starters of their rotation Giannis did what he always does and put the team on his back. Unsure if I could give him a vote this week though with numbers well down to his season averages and only 7% from 3 down from 22%

James Harden

PER 37.95

Western
2-2
Harden had a crazy week shooting 38% from 3 on 13 attempts he's been the main source of scoring for Utah all season with their franchise player Embiid out of action. Harden has really thrived as the primary scorer and is having an MVP caliber season. 44/5/5 on 50/38/81 could strengthen his MVP case with a POTW nod here.

Anthony Davis

PER 32.56

Western

Not much to say with AD other than if he's healthy he's going to be in the POTW nominations. The most complete 2 way player in 2k other than Giannis. AD's 6 stocks a game was pivotal in getting the Wolves back on the winners list and might get him a POTW win.

Anthony Edwards

PER 34.52

The team is officially Ant's despite them trading for another franchise player in Steph Curry. Ant has still been the man in OKC coming off a big week where he was a +17! as he attempts to keep hold of the 1st seed out West.

Donovan Mitchell

PER 33.98

Maybe I haven't paid close enough attention but Mitchell is a name I haven't seen in here all that often. Now the main man in Denver he's brought his averages well up this week from 28ppg to 40ppg and from a +3 to a +9, putting in a lot of work as Denver look for a late push for a playoff spot

40.0 PTS
