ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 18

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Oso Ighodaro

PER 21.80

Eastern
0-5
Oso has been really nice in this Knicks bench role and it continued this week with 9 points a game on an unfathomable 91% shooting. He only grabbed 3 rebounds a game, but 1.6 blocks is nice when it’s not what he was scouted for out of college. He’s got a bench big future for sure.

Reed Sheppard

PER 27.09

Eastern
1-4
Reed has been slowly ramping up as he gets court time and he’s got oodles of potential waiting to be found out. 13 points in 17 minutes on 55/40/81 splits is some amazing work from the little used rookie and just a glimpse of what he could become in the future.

Jamal Shead

PER 37.06

Eastern
1-3
Oh my Shead! 22 points a game off the bench this past week in only 20 minutes a game? The man has done similar at times this year as the Nets cleared house of the vet bench PGs and this is why they did as such. The man can play and he’s a GM favourite!

Zaccharie Risacher

PER 23.49

Eastern
3-1
Zach has definitely been playing better of late and 13/5/3 is nothing to sneeze at on 51/31/86 splits. Thats vet material in only 24 bench minutes a game. He’s loved by his GM and will be crowed about until the cows come home, and he might yet be more than a great 3rd option for a team.

Alex Sarr

PER 19.42

Eastern
4-0
Sarr had a good week offensively this week with 13 points a game an uptick for him. 7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks also, showing his 2way versatility is on the rise and the #1 pick in the land might yet be a PF next year to boot!

Dalton Knecht

PER 15.57

Western
0-4
Knecht only played 13 minutes this week for 5 points and not much else. Hes not going to get the award this week and will need to see some strong growth over the offseason if he’s going to get a bigger role next year.

Zach Edey

PER 21.88

Western
1-3
All abouts the Edey coaster. He scored 20 a night the other week but this week reverted back to a defensive and rebounding role, which probably suits him better. The man mountain scored 8 a night still, but hauled in 15 rebounds and swatted 4.5 blocks per game which are both elite numbers as he stays in that hunt for ROTY.

Pacome Dadiet

PER 15.61

Western
1-3
Dadiet is in the rotation now with 13 minutes a night but he’s not ready. 4 points and 4 rebounds with 2 assists is solid on paper, but he did it on 25/13/67 splits.

Adem Bona

PER 10.70

Western
4-0
Bona is still starting but he’s not all that ready still. 6 points and 6 rebounds with 1 block but the percentages are poor and his impact probably isn’t the same as the departed Clarke. Maybe he’ll get there in the coming seasons, but for now he’s a stop gap.

6.3 PTS

6.3 REB

Isaiah Collier

PER 17.08

Western
4-0
Collier was minor this week but still in the rotation. 5 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists is not going to win an award, but it was in only 11 minutes and he’s holding down that reserve role nicely.
