MOST IMPROVED WATCH - Week 18

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Paolo Banchero

PER 31.82

Last Season
PER 16.26

Western
18-56
Paolo has really gone to another level this season as his points average has climbed from 22ppg to 31ppg. A main piece in the Giannis trade I'm sure his GM will be very happy to see this kind of play from him. While still a negative +/- due to being in a rebuilding team he's still upped that from -8 to -6.5 showing clear signs of improvement.

Derrick White

This was one player I'm sure many saw coming with White having a very speedy 2k build and then adding all those badges off the back of a career year where his NBA team won the title.

White's averages have come up from 19ppg to 24ppg as Miami's 1st option scorer and up from -2.4 to +4.1 this season. A big reason for White's uptick in production has been from 3 where he's gone from taking 2.8 per game to taking 7.4 this season.

Another one that has snuck into this award that probably should not be here. He's already an established player and his numbers have barely changed in fact his shooting splits have gotten worse. Wouldn't expect him to be in this conversation when votes are taken.

Unfortunately copped a season ending injury for Portland in what should have been a runaway year for most improved. Up from 10ppg to 24ppg and was able to be trusted in a starting role. This might be a season that's swept under the rug with missed chance at a major award for Ivey.

Atlanta have thrown Bane on the trading block a couple times during his tenure in Atlanta and he's upped his game in hopes of staying. Up from 18.5ppg to 23ppg and from a dismal -10.9 to -3.6 in a very improved Atlanta Hawks outfit

Have had a few slip through the updated system for this award, Schroder I include in this. He shouldn't be here. Putting up almost identical numbers to last season on worse efficiency. Should be removed from the pool of players come voting time you'd expect.

Shaedon Sharpe

A real contender for this award Sharpe has been Phoenix's main stay player on a team that seemingly has a revolving door into the facility. Up from 10ppg and a -3 to 18ppg and +0.3. Really picking up his production despite only being a starter 28 times this season. Sharpe is another one I expect to poll well in this award.

Malcolm Brogdon

Brogdon is here on the back of a very small sample size, though that's the story of this mans career he only really gives you small glimpses before returning to the injury list. When he has played this year he has been very impressive averaging 25ppg for Memphis up from 15ppg last season. Not sure he'd get my vote but he has a case (maybe?)

Ehh I don't know about this one, feels like Mitch is an already established player and most of his production improvement has simply come from being on the bench in Memphis in a small sample size to being a starter in Sacramento in another small sample size.

Devin Vassell

Western
23-52
Vassell finds himself on his 3rd team in 2 years as he's now in Dallas via New York and last season in Toronto. The 2k leap finally arrived for Vassell after a season playing alongside Wemby 2k finally realised he was a good player. Up from 10ppg and +1.3 (though was a playoff team) to 20ppg and -3.5 on a lottery team has impacted his +/-. Vassell is one that should find a lot of votes for this award.
