ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 17

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Donovan Clingan

PER 20.08

Eastern
1-4
The big Cling man had a cracker of a week last week going for 11 points, 13 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks per game continuing to state his case for rookie of the year for the Hawks. he's been the most consistent rookie all year if you ask this writer and he should rack up another award.

Jamal Shead

PER 17.28

Eastern
0-4
Shead is a favourite of GM Breece and it's easy to see why as he's made an impact in the NSL and in the NBA as a rookie this year. Last week he was thrust into a starting role and he answered the call as he has done all year averaging 13 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists a game despite shooting it only 40/27/68 splits. He looks good as a role playing PG for a nice career.

Alex Sarr

PER 16.48

Eastern
1-4
Sarr has had an up and down season thus far even though he's started many more games than he's come off the bench for. This past week was a nice step in 26 minutes a game across 5 games, where he topped 10 points per game with 6 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and shot 56% from deep to boot. He's going to be that floor spacer in his career, or at least he's trying to be, so this stat is important.

Oso Ighodaro

PER 22.60

Eastern
2-2
Oso continues to do all that's asked of him off the bench for the Knicks and in 16 minutes a game last week he dropped 8 points, 7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, which is a big boon for a guy who was touted as a big man jack of all trades, but not really a master of any, so to see him lock down that bench big role to a T is a great result going forward.

Yves Missi

PER 20.70

Eastern
3-1
Missi was back this week and while he's been missing games for whatever reason for the flying Cavs, when he plays he gets results. This past week he played 15 minutes a night off the bench for 4 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game which it the epitome of a Missi, and 2k big man, line.

Pelle Larsson

PER 12.03

Western
0-4
Larsson has shown a bit as a rookie but that hasn't stopped him from being on four different teams since he was drafted. This past week for Dallas he played 17 minutes and recored 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game which was a solid return from the kid. He looks like a solid bench role player find for the NBA heat which means he'll probably have a decent career.

Dalton Knecht

PER 11.81

Western
0-4
Knecht's up and down year continued despite this nomination. Last weeks 5 points, 1.5 rebounds and not much else isn't going to win him the weekly award or get him much playing time as his career progresses so the Mavs will want growth in year 2.

Stephon Castle

PER 22.67

Western
1-3
Castle has grown as the year has gone on and is now a legit threat to be the ROTY despite his ups and downs. Off the bench last week he once again poured it in with 16 points a game in 23 minutes, adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists also. If his outside shooting grows, he's going to be a real problem going forward.

Pacome Dadiet

PER 10.85

Western
2-2
Dadiet is finally healthy enough for some more time for the Suns but he's still not ready, and may never get there after being a surprise 1st round pick in the NBA last year. 2 points, 3 rebounds on poor shooting isn't going to with the award and doesn't show much for his future prospects, either.

2.5 PTS

Isaiah Collier

PER 17.18

Western
3-1
Collier continues to get reps as the season progresses and this past week in 15 minutes a game he scored 9 points with 2 rebounds and 3 assists a game off the bench under his mentor in CP3. He shot 55/44/86 splits, too, which show it's not a line that is usage dependent and he has a shot to be a playoff bench PG for the Nuggets as a rookie.
