SIXTH MAN WATCH - Week 16

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

C.J. McCollum

PER 31.89

Eastern
35-32
We talk a lot about impact, and to have CJ as your 6-man is elite when it comes to backup minutes provision. Week 16 was exceptional - some might question the six-man tag to a guy playing 33 minutes a night, but you cannot ignore his production. 25 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds from his time on the court, and an impressive 45% from the field.

Anfernee Simons

PER 28.94

Eastern
51-18
The guard names continue, and we have Afernee Simons to add to the mix. He was 25 minutes in Week 16, and his influence was heavily weighted in the scoring column. 18 points from his 26 mins per game, however his plus/minus was down in a confusing week for the Cavs. 4 assists was helpful to the cause, and up on previous season averages.

Spencer Dinwiddie

PER 26.38

Western
42-25
Dinwiddie had his doubters at the start of the year, however he has carved a phenomenal 6-man role. Now in the NOLA outfit, Spencer was able to add 15 points, 3 boards, 4 assists and a +/- of -3.5. Dinwiddie will want to find more efficiency and impact if he wants the 6MOTY.

Collin Sexton

PER 26.09

Eastern
44-26
Sexton had an up-week in Week 16 - he maintained his production and improved on it. He managed 25 points from his 28 minutes per game, and added three booards and three assists. Very helpful to an up and down Bulls outfit that has needed his consistency. One can talk about his plus 6.5, but his efficiency has been exceptional - 48% from field and 54% from three.

Dennis Schroder

PER 24.69

Eastern
29-39
The German dynamo, Schroder has been steadily providing for the Pistons. His numbers this week are in keeping with his usual - providing 24 minutes of scoring and provision. His assist totals have been steady, providing 5 assists in Week 16. -2.8 in the plus/minus has been disappointing for him and the Detroit organisation.

Gary Trent Jnr.

PER 24.07

31-38
GTJ has been a big player for the Kings. His 20 minutes has been imperative to their success in many cases - in Week 16 he produced 13 points, 3 boards, 2 assists and shot 48% from the field. GTJ was -3.8 in his plus/minus and would have hoped for a better showing - he will need to lift his numbers to lift the award.

Giddey-Up! A big week in the NBA and a big week in the NSL - Giddey has been adding to his tally in a big way. His influence on the game has been amazing - making waves in his time on the court. The Knicks would be exceptionally pleased with what he has to offer and how he has turned the tide for the NY outfit.

Shaedon Sharpe

PER 23.41

The golden child of Phoenix - Sharpe had one of his best weeks of the season. He improved his plus/minus from 0.7 on the year to 5.5 in Week 16. He scored 22 points against his usual 17. He added 3 board and assists as per usual, and was 50% from the field. With Dame out, Sharpe has stepped up on his steady 27 minutes.

Russell Westbrook

PER 22.47

Western
39-30
Hot off the heels of his 'blunder' in the NBA, Westbrook has something to cheer for. A plus/minus of 6 was helpful to the Pels cause, and his 27 minutes per game consistent. He managed 18 points, 4 boards and a huge 9 assists per game. Hist 45% from the field was in keeping with his usual - however his 3P% was a dismal 9%.

Edrice Adebayo

PER 21.39

Western
29-39
I did not expect to see Bam here. Adebayo played 19 minutes in Week 16 from the bench, he managed 8 points and 4 boards. It seems a fall from grace for an ex-All Star center. His role in Memphis has changed and he has been seen to be a back-up big - his plus/minus was down to -3. His efficiency was down too. Not much to cheer for here - a real down week for Bam.
