ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 11

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Donovan Clingan

PER 17.81

Eastern
3-1
Clingan has been starting more recently and he’s been showing all that he was scouted for pre-draft. 10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, but 1.5 blocks and 2.8 steals a game this past week! Huge returns from your rookie big who was known to be a smart player and defensive angled guy. Does this get the voters attention?

Yves Missi

PER 20.87

Eastern
3-1
Missi keeps going from strength to strength as the starting C in. Level and. This week he smashed out 11 points and 11 rebounds, with 2 blocks per game and 88% shooting from the field! The Cavs traded their big money Cs, smartly, and Missi has not made them regret it once.

Kel el Ware

PER 16.54

Eastern
3-1
Ware got the starting nod this week and produced finely for the Heat. 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.5 blocks but perhaps most importantly, he went at 59/47/100 splits showing his versatility offensively in helping space the floor. That was on 4 attempts from deep, too. The kid is growing just as Pete hoped!

Adem Bona

PER 17.15

Eastern
3-1
Bona started some weeks in Philadelphia, but a good trade offer came round when the 76ers knew they’d need a roster spot, so they took it. He’s been working admirably off the bench in Toronto and had a very solid 6 points, 5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks last week in 21 minutes a game. The counting numbers won’t compete this week but he’s been good none the less.

Ajay Mitchell

PER 19.72

Eastern
4-0
Mitchell won’t be having many more healthy weeks this year, but he started for Philly this week and really helped them go 4-0. 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists with 1.5 steals and a block per game as the starter while shooting it 52% and 35% from deep. What more can you ask from the former 2way pick 53 in the last draft.

Ron Holland

PER 15.32

Western
0-4
Holland continues to be in the rotation is LA but his numbers continue to be muted as he’s not getting time in the NBA and no boosts in 2k. 6 points and 3 boards in 17 bench minutes is solid enough and he’s got some signs for the future.

Ulrich Chomche

PER 14.28

Western
1-3
Chomche has been starting in Portland this week after playing off the bench a bunch of other weeks this year. He’s raw as raw but did average 8 points, 7 rebounds and some healthy defensive numbers. His athleticism makes up for some of his other short falls on his way to some solid weeks.

Stephon Castle

PER 25.96

Western
3-2
Castle has gone from strength to strength recently after starting the season out relatively muted. 19 points in 25 minutes a game this week off the bench and he’s providing a much needed boost for them as a 6th man. Maybe this is the best role for him until he gets some seasoning?

Bub Carrington

PER 12.05

Western
3-1
Bub has been up and down this year off the bench for the Suns which is why Laddas has looked for veteran help in the role instead. Hes had a solid NBA rookie year and has a nice future, though. Only 6 points, 2 rebounds off the bench in 19 minutes isn’t going to win the award this week.

Adam Flagler

PER 7.82

Western
3-1
The Lakers have been forced into using their rookie 2way off the bench at PG. Flagler isn’t ready yet though and is only averaging 2 points in 10 bench minutes last week. It’s nice to see the kid nominated since he might not even be around next year.
