MVP WATCH - Week 10

PLAYERTEAMWHYSTATS

Giannis Antetokounmpo

PER 43.34

MVP 47.84

Western
21-26
Giannis is as elite as they come in 2k that is why it was such a surprise when he was moved at all in his time during the league. One of the most valuable parts of Giannis’ game is his defense along with the offense. Should be an MVP contender each year as long as he plays the games.

Jayson Tatum

PER 35.78

MVP 41.48

Eastern
28-21
Tatum is playing very well this year, but the Celtics have regressed from last season. Maybe it's his counterparts not stepping up or maybe it's just the East becoming so much better as the record they'd have in the West would get them the 6 seed. Tatum with his youth and impact he makes already is one of the most valuable players in the league to have.

Kevin Durant

PER 38.18

MVP 44.08

Eastern
29-20
KD has been phenomenal when he's played, he has been out some though for Dylan which has made things tougher. The pairing of Curry and KD is a dream, but they're still fighting to keep the playoff spot. It is hard when you get top players like that on your depth as you lose a lot of it. If the Raps keep climbing the standings. KD should have a better shot.

Jimmy Butler

PER 34.30

MVP 40.20

Western
29-20
I don't think Jimmy will win this award, as he probably won't have played enough games. With his suspensions he had, it'll be too much to keep him in the running with the new rules. AD would've been a better nominee from the Minnesota team than Butler.

James Harden

PER 34.72

MVP 40.72

Western
30-20
With Embiid having many injury problems, Harden is the guy keeping this team afloat being ranked 12th in the NSL currently. With Harden he's always going to be a threat, it's really about trying to get him to use his passing as an advantage also. In his prime he was so dominant, and while he's not what he used to be, he can surely play with the best of the best still.

Ja Morant

PER 35.02

MVP 41.52

Eastern
32-17
It will probably be where Ja doesn't have the games played to win it, even though he has the amazing stats an he has his team in a good spot right now. Just injured too often.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

PER 38.27

MVP 44.97

Eastern
33-16
The former MVP, back up for award. He is still doing amazing this year and just as Giannis he is very valuable on offense and defense. It is a slight decrease in production from last year, but to be in the running for the MVP yet again he's gotta be doing something right.

35.9 PTS

Lebron James

PER 36.98

MVP 43.68

Eastern
33-16
Who would've thought Lebron would be this dominant at 40 years old, not me or probably anyone else. I know 2k keeps the legendary guys relevant, but to be putting up 40 ppg efficiently is crazy. Not to mention the Wizards are one of the top teams in the league.

40.4 PTS

8.3 REB

4.5 AST

1.0 STL

1.7 BLK

DeAaron Fox

PER 33.45

MVP 41.15

Eastern
37-11
As Fox's GM, I have to say he is very valuable in why we are tied for the best record in the league. He does so much on offense and is such a dependable guy. The entire team is built around him and everyone else just plays their own roles. I wish he'd be more of a passer, but I guess it's just a problem with tendencies. Can only hope he is a finalist, maybe the winning can help him win, but the MVP usually goes to the best stats I feel.

32.2 PTS

3.3 REB

4.7 AST

1.0 STL

0.4 BLK

Anthony Edwards

PER 33.39

MVP 41.19

Western
38-11
We've always wondered when Ant was going to take that leap, and it looks like he's done it now. Scoring almost 37 ppg on the team tied for best record in the league. We figured it would come at some point, just didn't know when. The trio of Ant, Trae, and Ayton has proved to be amazing and the role players he has around them fit so well.

36.3 PTS

4.5 REB

3.3 AST

0.6 BLK
