NBA SIMS LEAGUE
It's almost draft time which means the Cleveland office has opened it's doors back up. The Cavs finished 24-58 on the season, after a massive final 4 week run which was not exactly what we wanted but you can't control the team finally getting healthy. We had zero luck in the lottery and held our 8th pick which the way we have the draft going we believe there will be a few candidates that Cleveland are totally fine with. Beauty of our spot is it's mostly guards available which is a glaring hole for Cleveland. While we are looking at mostly the 1 spot we are prepared for a few high potential guys to potentially fall in which we'd definitely look at. We'll go through a quick rundown of the guards we think will be available. Will we go score first, pass first or the 2 way guard?
6'8 18 years old, Josh Giddey at only 18 he could very likely grow to the height of Ben Simmons at 6'11, while not as athletic as Ben is Josh sees the floor similarly. He has a great basketball IQ, passing and feel for the game like his height are things you just can't teach. We are looking into Josh quite a bit and if we feel like we need someone to set up our offense which is the area we lacked most last season Josh could well become our number 1 target if he is available.
6'3 22 year old PG Davion Mitchell a fearless 2 way score first point with elite defense. He is the strongest perimeter defender in the class and has that love for the game and work ethic to prove it. Cleveland is excited by his quick first step and shiftiness and that he can play off the ball well which is becoming more rare in todays age of basketball which bodes well with our passing wings.
6'5 19 year old James Bouknight, is more of a SG but we believe he could slide to the 1 and be a score first point in 2k. His creativity on offense is a marvel, has a full bag of tricks with his hesitation move being a highlight. Strong finisher at the rim, projects as a high volume 3 level scorer though needs to work on his shooting more. His measurements and speed make me believe he could also be a great defender if he puts more time in on that end.
Outside of the draft, in Cavs news we have committed to signing big man Jarrett Allen to a 5 year 100 million extension. Cleveland is thrilled the big man signed on again but would have matched any offer made for him so it wasn't likely he was going anywhere regardless.
