Cleveland Cavaliers

Cavs are streaking.

The unexpected run

Cleveland as of late have been on a win streak, not like the top dogs 40 something games win streak but a win streak nonetheless. Earlier this season we really lacked ball movement and steady high percentage, high volume shooters which really made us look bad against bad teams and disgusting against good ones. Since the return of Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kris Dunn along with Morris acquired just before the deadline. Cleveland has been on a sneaky little run of good games where we've been unexpectedly good against good competition. While this isn't ideal for the upcoming draft lottery we knew eventually we were going to break away from the bottom of the pack when our starters returned. The start of the year I had predicted us to be around the pick 6 mark so current projected pick 7 isn't too much of a stretch and seems we are basically cemented with this projection headed to the lottery so winning more games isn't too much of a kick in the guts for the Cavs.

The 3 winning trades Cleveland made this season brought upon this spark to the roster. Kris Dunn was acquired for a measly 2nd and moving Mike Muscala and Jahlil Okafor. The deal was mostly a right place at the right time to help facilitate a bigger deal. Bogdan Bogdanovic was the other trade, acquired for Lonzo Ball we got back Bogdan and a 24 1st round Pick. Our 6th man Marcus Morris was had in a trade for Justise Winslow and Bruce Brown. These players have been instrumental for us late this year as they all provide defense, playmaking and Bogdanovic, Morris have been scorching the nets at high volume.

Special shout out to Kris Dunn and Obi Toppin also who have taken their games to new heights in recent weeks.

Here's a look at the top players over the last month.

23.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.5apg, 1.2spg on 48/42/100

12.4ppg, 14.2rpg, 2.3bpg on 68/25/90

17ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.8apg on 47/56/87 in only 20mpg

We are extremely excited to watch this roster next season with some fresh faces coming this off-season.
