Orlando Magic

The Building Blocks

With the 18th overall pick in the inaugural NBA Sim League Draft, The Orlando Magic select Damian Lillard out of the NBA Portland Trail Blazers.

Dame Dolla $

Not Someone we expected to drop to 18th, and at the time we were tossing up between Lillard, Westbrook and Tatum. But Damian got the nod ahead of those 2 for a few reasons.
One being that he is just smooth af, got to love his game and shooting will never go out of fashion. Hes a superstar on a good contract for arguably a top 10 player in the nba at the moment. He is still young and has a lot of basketball ahead of him. Hes hopefully going to be a trail blazer for life, so i wont have to worry about losing him in free agency. And most importantly, he is a superstar rated in the 90's and at pick 18 you just have to take him.

The only downside being that point guard is stacked and we might have been able to find one in the later rounds. But we have no complaints here at all in Orlando.

With the 43rd overall pick in the inaugural NBA Sim League Draft, The Orlando Magic select Steven Adams out of the NBA Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Big Kiwi

We really didnt know what to expect going into this pick, we were tossing up between quite a few players after Marvin Bagley III unfortunately didnt drop to us (cry face).
Demar Derozan, John Collins (who went 1 pick before), Jrue Holiday and Blake Griffin were all considered at this pick as well.

But we went with the bull to give us some rebounding and he can anchor the defense at the centre position for the Magic. He is also in a great spot to grow with lillard as the years roll on.
Yea he might be a bit pricey on his contract, but we just love his play style and what he brings on the court.

Go Magic.
