MVP WATCH - Week 9

Anthony Davis
PER 31.80MVP 34.60
Western 23-59

The Best player on the best West team. Some would debate the best team part. But I am still confident to be on the Spurs bandwagon. 31 points 14 rebounds 4 assists, 1.5 blocks and a steal. Shooting an absurd 66% from the field and 41% from 3 for a big man. These are insane numbers and he was down this week on his season averages. Bow to the Brow. He is looking to go back to back and is well on the way.

DeMar DeRozan
PER 22.05MVP 25.85
Western 31-51

This guy is simply unstoppable. Averaged 40 points this week on 57% from the field. He is scorching hot. He is playing on the inform Nets, who just got even better with the return of Boogie and who knows what deal Wiz had in the works for Blake. They might even get better. DeMar is just killer at the moment. Good luck defending him.

Jimmy Butler
PER 25.39MVP 29.19
Eastern 31-51

Jimmy is winning games for this ball club at an alarming rate. He missed week 8 and the hawks really struggled. His week 9 mirrored his season stats and that is good enough to keep him right in this MVP race. Atlanta are simply a far better side with him in the unit. Does a bit of everything. 2K Jimmy seems to be far more pleasant than real life Jimmy as well. So all bodes well for the Hawks.

Lebron James
PER 29.00MVP 34.90
Eastern 48-34

The King. The best player on the Best east team and the best team in the league. Out injured atm, and it ended the streak. His numbers are as good as ever and he shows no signs of slowing down. He makes everyone around him better, like a true MVP Should. Pete keeps talking about quitting so I can't to take over his team and Lebron when he does. Clear candidate for the award.

Stephen Curry
PER 31.02MVP 37.22
Eastern 51-31

The Chef is having a great season. Spurred on by Daz pretending to quit for about 35 minutes, Steph is playing amazing ball and has The Bulls right in the mix. The Splash brothers are finally rolling and its dangerous for everyone. Shooting 46% from 3 when you take 10 a game is delightful. Yet to miss a FT either. Probably will now! Sorry Daz

Kawhi Leonard
PER 25.74MVP 32.34
Eastern 54-28

Kawhi is Mr Reliable. So effective on both ends. Scores and makes his team mates way better and is also the best defender in the league. Had an unbelievable Plus minus of +21 in Week 9. No coincidence that he had a massive week and so did OKC. Watch out for these guys as the season goes on. They are hitting top form

Giannis Antetokounmpo
PER 32.10MVP 38.90
Western 56-26

Giannis is putting up huge numbers and helping badwolf consolidate top 4 in the stacked East. Doing a bit of everything, the Greek Freak is another shooting crazy FG% on high volume amounts of shots. Taking 21 a game and hitting 13 is amazing. An amazing defender as well. That is what puts him right up in the convo. If he can get the bucks to a clear 1st in the east. That will help Giannis cause.

Russell Westbrook
PER 16.01MVP 23.11
Eastern 58-24

The boom recruit to Dallas and he has not disappointed. 33 5 and 5. A far more efficient version of his NBA self. Russ is guiding this team nicely. How far they go will mostly fall on his shoulders. So far so good. A genuine MVP in every sense of the word. Super super important to this team. Maybe more important to his team than anyone on this list.

Kawhi Leonard
PER 25.74MVP 32.84
Eastern 58-24

Kawhi is Mr Reliable. So effective on both ends. Scores and makes his team mates way better and is also the best defender in the league. Had an unbelievable Plus minus of +21 in Week 9. No coincidence that he had a massive week and so did OKC. Watch out for these guys as the season goes on. They are hitting top form

Kevin Durant
PER 35.23MVP 43.13
Eastern 65-17

KD. I promise I wont touch on Position-gate. Its been played out to death. But either way, you can't deny that Joel moving Kevin to SG has been a masterstroke. Averaged 47 PPG last week which is unbelievable. He could go the rest of the way averaging 45. Which would give his team and himself the best shot of winning a title and this award

Damian Lillard
PER MVP
Western -

Dame is Philly's man. In a stacked starting 5, he does a little bit of everything and does it well. 30ppg with 5 assists and a steal on 40% from 3 when taking over 12 of them a game. So exciting to watch. He is the Future and the Now for VT. Can he take them deep? That will determine his MVP standing.
